Arlo 15 year old 15.1 hand grey branded Quarter Horse Gelding. Stocky built just like a quarter horse should be. Big boned, big feet and put together very well with a nice head and very kind eye. Here’s a horse that’s worth his weight in gold. A true steady eddy push button mount. If safety is your top priority this horse is an insurance policy. He is not just safe, he’s also very well broke. This horse worked his whole life as a ranch horse.... (read more) He has done every single aspect of ranch work and worked the stockyards for many years. He has a long resume and has seen and done just about everything. Arlo has slow, smooth collected gaits, moves off leg, knows his leads and has perfect transitions. Stands at the mounting block like a statue and won’t walk off until asked. He has been a western horse his entire life but we threw him in English tack, asked him to jump and he does both like he has been doing it his whole life. If you need a confidence builder or a horse to go right to work in a beginner lesson program this is a horse that’ll be the star of the show. He’ll also work for any therapy program.
Rides around the arena great both inside or out. You can take the bridle off and ride him bridleless and bareback to. True Teo finger neck rein, turns on his haunches, lopes right off and will slide stop, or you can just ride him like a school horse and he’ll just plug along. Perfect horse for a kid and will honestly teach a kid to ride. He will also make you look like a cowboy even if you’re not. He came out of Texas and knows what working is for a living. He’s a phenomenal trail horse and we honestly tried to rattle him and not a thing phases him. He’ll ride putt alone without making a peep, leave the farm and is completely road and traffic safe. He is a bombproof trail horse to say the least and will take care of whoever is on his back. You don’t need to know how to ride to ride this one, he’ll take care of you. If you can sit there and hold the reins you’re good, he’ll do the rest. As far as personality he is great. Loves people, loves attention and will take all the love you want to give. Best ground manners you could ever ask for and no vices at all. Requires no maintenance and no supplements. Very easy horse to ride, care for and own. Lives inside or out and gets along with others or can be by himself. Cross ties, clips, bathes, trailers, ground ties, etc. I would take a barn full of horses just like Arlo. He’s one of those rare finds. I know one thing if all horses were like him our job would be easy and there would be a lot of happy people. 100% sound with nice big black feet. He can go barefoot with no issues at all, currently he has brand new front shoes on. Up to date on everything and ready to go to his new forever home.
