Motivated sale and willing to negotiate price for best possible scenarios for this gentle giant. He is an Easy keeper, and does fine alone out in a pasture or with lots of horses. Does best one-on-one with consistent confident patient handler. Trust is key with this one. Once he trusts you he is in your back pocket. He is such a sweet baby already after I’ve spent just 3 months time working with him. He responded immediately in the round pen.... (read more) Leads with me everywhere. Has been in “re-training” since June 15, ‘23. Previous breeder/owner didn’t work with him much for 5 plus years. Doing very well with his training. Walk up to him anywhere and Halter him. Leads very well. Can be and has been saddled several times. Does not fight saddle at all. Plow reins but doesn’t remember the bit so needs work there. Not yet fully broke to ride, but so freakin’ close!!! It’s right there but I have broke my wrist and I’m on the sidelines. I don’t want him to back peddle in my benching. I have been on him bare back, in round pen, about 5 times. He has so much potential!!!! Just still needs a little more work work with a good rider/horseman. Former owner had him about 12 years and used to pull with him, but I have not driven him, and do not know his ability/status on driving now. Maybe would only need refreshing. Great feet. Last ferrier appt was Sept 7. Does great! I can pick up his feet anytime I want! I’m only 5’3” and 126 lbs, just to give you and idea, of how very respectful this boy is! He has Great bone. Very Solid. Our equine vet is more than impressed with him. Brought professional trainer out on him for 30 days and she would be happy to comment on how awesome he does. Primarily Black. In summer: very Dark Bay - I.e. very dark brown with black legs, mane/tale. He has a Beautiful neck, long mane/tale. His trot, lope, all his gates are amazing. Absolutely full of grace and poise. He would be such a smooth ride, for sure! But definitely more woah than go. ;) He is pretty impressive to look at, a big hunky beast, a conversation attention grabber. He is such a sweet boy, but he just worries. (Seems concerned, not afraid.) I think he just wants to know what to do. :) He has the most endearing expressions. We called him Bucephalus or B. He is Not registered. The breeder didn’t register his gelding Percherons. B gets along with all animals - goats, mini donkey, chickens, geese, dog, etc. just want to note that B is Not a good horse for novice beginners / kids until he finishes his training! His temperament when he came to us was a 5 out of 10 and we have dialed him down to a 3, in such short time. He is a love, and a magnificent, strong horse.
His dam and sire are registered with PHAOA. Can share that pedigree if interested.
Note: I cannot deliver him. Must be picked up with trailer for this big guy. I could also sell some (5-6) round bales with him as we go into winter.
