Nala is nicely put together, beautiful color and markings that really stand out. We bought her as a project horse to start in '21 and find a wonderful new home when the time comes.
We have mostly been trail riding her but do work her in the arena as well as go to fun shows. She has a slow walk, a nice pitter patter trot and her lope is quite nice to sit - but if you ask for her to turn if up a notch - be ready because she is powerfully fast but FUN!... (read more) She is nicely trained so if you appreciate a horse that lightly responds to cues like side passing, turning, and walk to canter departures with ease - this mare is all that & more. We have recently been able to ride her with just a rope around her neck (no bridle!).
This past summer she was mostly ridden by a 15 yr old who always picked her to ride first when she was here. Nala currently is being used for riding lessons the youngest rider, so far of 8 yrs old does great with her too, but age is just a number - it's more about your knowledge on how to ride as well as your seat that determines if your a match.
Nala handled a trip to South Dakota like a pro, navigating unfamiliar terrain, creek crossings, and various obstacles. Her adaptability and willingness to explore new trails make her an ideal companion for riders with a thirst for adventure.
She is an ideal excellent dressage/western dressage prospect but would also make a great sorter or a nice barrel horse. Her enthusiasm for working with cattle, despite limited exposure, is a testament to her innate talent.
She thrives with a patient and supportive rider who can nurture her confidence as she continues to develop (not a beginners horse at this time). Rest assured, Nala has never shown any inclination to buck, rear, or run away. She is a consistent and dependable partner, no matter the duration between rides.

Offering foundational training for performance horses, while addressing individual issues, utilizing a wholistic approach based on equine psychology, physiology, and biomechanics. These sound principles benefit all equine partners for ANY discipline. I have experience with draft crosses, stock horses, and ponies.
The basics we work towards with each horse are forward, soft, supple, & willing. We encourage curiosity in all of our horses and exposing them without making them dull, and sensitive without being afraid. Horses are typically trailered to different places 2+ times a week (Depending on time of year & weather) but are worked with a minimum of 5 sessions per week. We haul to local barns to ride in an indoor and outdoor arenas & trail rides to expose them to different terrain & obstacles creating a more versatile and confident mount. The benefit of exposure to real life outside can’t be overstated.
Rest assured, your horse will come back home a better horse than when it was, I keep communication lines open and up to date as well as videos and photos of our experiences.
