I am honestly not sure how this dude is still available.

Silas is a great guy but unfortunately he's not a fit for his current owner because he's young and green. I'd literally die for this pony and am helping out because I want him to find the best possible home. Unfortunately for me I don't have fell pony money or space for another project so here we are.... Silas has been worked extensively on the ground and has been under saddle since I last posted about him, and is coming along well in his training. He's soft and supple, goes in circles both directions, goes independently around the arena at a walk, and has started to pick up trot work as well. So far hasn't tried to do anything mean--no buck/bite/rear and can take a joke so far as I can tell.
Bathes without a problem. Doesn't care about fly spray literally at all. Stands quietly for the farrier. Will stand tied all day without a problem. Gets on and off a trailer. Haven't tried to clip him (I have no purpose for that) but I sincerely doubt he'd care.
Barefoot, basically indestructible, and gets fat off air, but he's a pony so not sure what's to be expected otherwise.
That being said, he is still young and he is still green, and is in a stage in training where he needs to be brought along thoughtfully to continue being the rockstar he's been so far. He needs someone who either has the experience to work with young horses or who can afford to send him to a trainer to be finished, then he needs a job. He's not really seeming like the sit-in-a-pasture-and-ride-once-a-month type at the moment.
I love this pony. I'd keep him myself if I had the space. He makes me laugh on the daily. He's hilarious. And he's super sweet and easy with structure and a routine. He'd make some teenage girl with a ton of time on their hands and good horse sense a phenomenal project pony.
Like pretty much every young green pony ever, he is a very sensible guy but might make questionable choices if you don't enforce boundaries with him so it's important whoever buys him is able to do that.
He's not for your husband, your kid who doesn't know how to ride, or you if this is your first horse and you think he's gonna get along if you just build a magickal bond with him.
Yes, I know he's drop dead gorgeous. Yes, he's super sweet. He really needs a knowledgeable, capable horseperson to work with him. He's going to be absolutely fantastic in the right hands and I'm super jealous of whoever gets to bring him along.
He doesn't drive and I don't know how to teach that so it won't change. He is familiar with ground driving as a concept.
Price has increased since he was originally listed. It will continue to increase the longer he stays here.
He's five years old and 13-14 hands ish but he's stocky and I don't foresee he will have a problem carrying an adult. He has not had any problems carting my fat, grown-adult a** around.
He does have papers.
