“Sawyer” is a 15.2hh, 8yr old, QH gelding. Sweet, goofy, safe, and kind are a few words that can be used to describe this handsome boy! Sawyer is an in your pocket type of horse, he is curious and always manages to put a smile your face. He is gentle all around.
In the barn, Sawyer has no bad habits. He stands on the cross ties to be groomed, bathed, tacked, etc. He goes out with any herd of horses and causes no drama. He comes running to the gate when called.... (read more) He is good for the vet, farrier, loads and trailers well.
On the trails. Sawyer is cool, calm, and collected. He will trail ride all day long and never complain. He will lead, follow, go alone and in groups. I have used him to pony horses to the farrier in town, barking dogs, cows, sheep, traffic, horse and buggies, he does his job and safely. On the trails he will cross water, logs, bridges, safe with bikes, traffic, and could care less about dogs on his heels. He is not spooky. I have asked him to do some silly things and he goes for it! Sawyer will lope in a wide open field on the buckle! This boy is SAFE for anyone. He spent the summer going on camping trips. This horse takes care of his rider. I feel as if he would make an awesome fox hunter with how brave and easy going he is! I have also used Sawyer for photo shoots!
Sawyer rides western, english, bareback, double, backwards, and I even rode him a little bit with out a bridle on! He has smooooth, easy gaits. His canter is slow and balanced, and feels like a rocking horse. In the ring, he will walk, trot, canter, and has been started over fences. He picks up his leads, and will ride all three gaits on the buckle. He will collect when asked, and has a great whoa button. Sawyer is right in between whoa and go, he prefers to take it easy, but he is responsive and goes when asked, no crop or spurs needed. Sawyer moves off of leg, neck reins, pivots, side passes, and backs up well. Sawyer has recently been introduced to jumping, and even though he is green over fences, he is honest and cute!
This boy has a lot going for him! He previously did ranch work, you can rope off of him, and work cows. He is good for camping, amazing on trails, a saint in the ring, I mean, what more could you ask for? Sawyer has the ability to head in absolutely any direction!
