ZGC Royal Flush is a beautifully marked black and white curly Missouri Fox Trotter filly. We named her Royal Flush because she got it all. Gorgeous black and white markings, super sweet and teachable personality, naturally smooth gaits (likely up to 7-8 mph) and she is homozygous for the curly gene! That means that when bred in the future, she will produce 100% curls in all her foals guaranteed! She got a cream gene, so she can produce buckskin and palomino foals as well.... (read more) Royal is homozygous for the gaited gene as well. She learns her lessons quickly, loves people and comes right up to the fence to greet you. Her dam was the easiest horse we have ever trained. She was riding beginners shortly after training at age 3 because she was so laid back and obedient. We think Royal is equally as sweet, teachable and super calm and should do very well in saddle training. Royal is currently the tallest out of all the foals her same age and should finish out at 15 hands tall or more and be an easy filly to raise.
We believe that all horses should be as prepared as possible for their age when they go to their new home. For the foals, we lay them down and desensitize them at birth, teach all our foals to lead, back, pick up feet, load into and back out of a trailer, be gently flogged with a rope and whip Clinton Anderson style, be accepting of wormer (by putting fingers and the wormer stick in their mouth without the actual med) etc. They all get used to saddle pads and bareback pads, go on many walks with mom around our farm with tons of scary farm equipment and general farm trash, get ponied down roads, through ditches on concrete under building roofs etc. to desensitize them and prepare them for the real world. We find that they do much better if they have a solid base of being worked with before they leave for their new home.
Royal has a small white dot on her eye from a past injury. It is shown in the video below. Vet said it will dissapear in a couple years, she has been fully checked out and has 100% vision.
