If you are looking for a tall gaited Morgan horse, this is one to stop and consider! Her dam, whom we affectionally call Scarlet (for her color) has what we feel is the optimal conformation and type for distance riding. She is deep of chest and build compact but tall and not too wide (just as a good trail horse should be).... (read more) Scarlet came to us with little handling, but she came around very nicely and shows the sensible, willing, steady nature we have come to expect from this line. Her brother is KTM Eclipse the Wind and he is the reason we take this line so seriously! Scarlet and her full sister Ellie (whom we also have here in our mare band) have the best gait consistency at liberty of any of the Morgan mares. I started Scarlet lightly under saddle last winter and I fully trained her sister Ellie a couple years ago and I got to complete in one distance race with her. I am VERY EXCITED about this line!
To match the strong Utah breeding of the AA KTM mares (CADUCEUS MOSES, H-SARACEN, STETSON, AXTELL, GREEN MEADS), we are crossing them to MTN EDGE RAGNAR a young AA stallion bred by Jared Young. Ragnar carries lines from RIMLO BLACK VALIANT, RIMLO BLACK PRINCE, WYOMING FLYHAWK, OMAR SHERIFF, and WNS WINDENSTONE. These are trusted using lines of Morgan selected specifically for quality gait.
We expect this filly to follow her lines and reach 15.2 to 15.3 hands tall at maturity.
Tested and confirmed to be a silver bay, she has her mother's gracefulness and steady gait. She was born almost 3 weeks early, and as her mother was not taken out to the foaling pens, her little filly got a tough welcome from some crabby ponies! But nothing more than missing fur came of it and she is strong healthy and very curious!
