Mystic Blue Eyes x Vague Report
Dream is a large (I mean huge..my legs barely wrap around her and she's as wide as she is tall. That couch you take naps on? Imagine that... on 4 legs) buckskin mare by the imported German stallion Mystic Blue Eyes GF and out of a large warmblood type Thoroughbred mare. Dream is straight legged, correct in conformation, and is a sweepy, flat kneed mover.... (read more) Dream has comfortable gaits with an easy to sit canter. Is she an international mover? No - but that's not going to be her selling point. Her size and brain and beauty make up for the lack of gait pizzazz.
Although her primary career with me has been broodmare life and freeloader, Dream had a professional start and goes WTC in each direction. The bonus on top? She literally was born broke. During her pregancy and lactation, I rode Dream probably....less than 5 times? And every time I felt safe and she was extremely behaved under saddle. She will be an incredible amateur or junior horse. This year in her less than 5 rides for the season she's packed around a junior, a beginner, and then puts herself together for me to continue her dressage training. I would recommend some professional training to continue to bring her back into work and keep her headed in the right direction, but I think she would be great with an amateur or teenager under the assistance of a regular trainer.
No maintenance other than she has thin soles and will need to be in shoes (probably best in pads) for best results. Shes respectful of fence, not dominant, good in a stall and in the pasture. Dream is NOT herd bound, ties, cross ties, bathes well, and is overall really just an easy horse to have around. She gets fat on air. She is good for the farrier.
She tolerates IM injections, but she's a total PITA for IV injections/bloodwork. She has gotten much better, but still annoying to handle when you need to pull blood or IV something. She's also annoying enough to handle when trying to clip ears that I don't clip her ears or bridle path, I just use scissors which she's fine with. I would say if you're going to clip her ears you'll probably need to sedate her - however...as mentioned....annoying for IV...Otherwise, she's easy peasy. I don't sedate her to breed her, ultrasound, etc. Loads and trailers easy.
Only reason you're seeing this is because I've had a heck of a time trying to get her bred. She had a fantastic foal by Swedish stallion Zafferano last year...but despite 7 tries last year and all the tricks of the trade to get her pregnant, nada. Tried once this year already approximately a week ago, but despite Naxcel infusions, Dex, Oxy and selling my soul to the repro Gods, we still had a reaction to the semen extender. I'll check her on the 15th, but I'm not holding my breath. Would she be a super good candidate for live cover? Probably? But haven't tried it and I don't have the time to drive 12 hours to a warmblood stallion that would risk live covering a mare.
Dream will stay in my professional dressage program until someone decides they can't live without her and will give some of my junior riders lessons in between training.. I'll also start trail riding her because we love a well rounded queen but since shes not spooky, not herd bound, and generally unphased by life, I anticipate it will be no big deal. She hasn't been started over fences (since shes gigantic and just now 5 and I'm fairly certain still growing) but I plan to start her over fences as we continue to bring her back into work as well. PPEs are welcomed and encouraged. No rads on file currently because she's as solid as a linebacker and hasn't given me a reason to rad.
Pasture exchange fee is appropriate for a giant, clean slated, dilute, good brained warmblood mare that will remain in a professional program and shown until someone snaps her up.
