With a sad heart, Miyah is Available for Sale. Broadway Brahms, aka Miyah, is a beautiful, inside-and-out mare! She is nine years old and 16- 16.1 hands tall. She is for sale by no fault; I am a college student in my third year and took on a full-time job to care for her and pay for school. It all has become challenging. She now deserves more than I can give. She is a one person horse! I will not sell to a lesson program.... (read more)
Pros: She is brave and quiet, full of personality, a one-person horse, and has lots of potential. She indeed has been my best friend and is very gentle! I have put people on her, from my dad to my young cousin. She has jumped up to 4ft verticals with a confident rider. She stands for the farrier and loads well (see Cons)! She has been over jumps with fillers and competed in 2ft long stirrup: no stop or spook with someone confident. Good with Mares and Geldings. She has lived alone and in a herd. She is not low on the pecking order but is not a bully!
She is on a skin and hoof supplement. Beautiful main and tail that grows like crazy and BEAUTIFUL tall black socks.
I have spent a lot of time in the years I've owned her on groundwork. So she is excellent with leading, standing, and horsemanship activities. I have pictures of all the crazy stuff she has let me do. *She wants to please her rider*. Easy ride on the flat. She is nice to be around and handle.
Jockey Registered and has papers.
Cons: does not like clippers, Has her occasional mare moments, but not on hormone supplements. She gets anxious without a friend, but we have significantly worked on that. Back sensitive from past saddle trauma, but with a well-fitting saddle, she floats! (I recently bought a brand new saddle fitted to her that is available for sale). She loads well with patience!!! She needs a kind heart and a soft yet firm hand. In the beginning she can be slightly unpredictable at times. However, as you get to know her she becomes more predictable and appreciates a steady hand. She will trial but not with a bridle. Every time I have taken her out in a bridle she has responded negatively. However, I have taken her on trails bareback and in a halter and she is relaxed and its enjoyable! I can also work her in a field in full tack and she does great.
She also has not shown in two years. This is because I simply lost the desire and no long have the means to do so.
Other than her anxiety, she is a one-of-a-kind horse. I have videos from August, mainly because that's when my sister could get out with me. She is still "green" but would suit a confident youth or amateur riding in a program. She needs someone who is relaxed and can be there to remind her that the world around her does not matter. She is often quick to remind me of this as well. She will bless you beyond belief and teach you lessons you didn't know you needed to learn.
I want her to go to one person with a trainer who wants to show. She needs a job, and consistency! She would do great with someone wanting to go to local C shows or wanting to take the time to work up to the A circuit. She would do best in a professional program where he can continue to get confident rides to the jumps. She deserves someone committed who will love her. She will be an easy one for juniors or amateurs to bring along.
She was broke and trained by a Grad Prix rider Fernando Cardenas, her previous vet, who can vouch for her potential.
No soundness issues, open to PPE at buyer expense.
