Let me start out by saying that if you think "He's just too young and I need a steady eddy that has experience" please come meet this guy before writing him off. Just because he is young does not mean he does not have the beginner/husband safe mind already. I would happily and confidently put a child on this guy.
Now does he still need the fine tuning and finishing touches? Sure he does. Since my lack of time hasn't done him any favors as far as getting his beach body back, he needs to build some muscle/stamina so that he can work on a collected and balanced canter.... (read more) Is he going to move perfectly off of your leg right now? No, but give him a month of riding and he will be. Do you need to send him off to a training for all of that? Nope, I would say just about anyone with some riding experience can finish this guy out.
Now for the details.
RBF Call Me Robert Emmet aka Emmet is a 2020 GVHS registered n/p1 gelding who stands a solid 15.2h. We don't believe he is going to gain anymore height, but he will fill out quite a bit more. Emmet was bred and born here and is by our senior stallion, Sterling Spring Call Me Sir (SD Jim- Bob The Blagdon X Oakfields Her Majesty- The old horse of wales) out of our largest mare, Galway Girl of RBF ( Lake Ridge British Sterling- The Kuchi Stallion X Seabra- Clononeen Slievenamon)
Sold to an amazing home as a weanling where his previous owner doted on him and gave him the time and opportunity to be exposed to more than most his age would be. Emmet has had a phenomenal start under saddle that has made him the go to type of horse to try anything and feel confident that he is going to have just as much fun trying it as his rider is. He only came back to us as he grew much taller/larger than his owner needed.
Emmet is out of shape currently, but absolutely has the movement and build for the dressage, lower level eventing, or hunter ring. Is he your next meter jumper? Absolutely not, but he is your dabble in everything type. Trail riding extraordinaire, parades all day, ride down the road, climb on double and laugh with your friends. This guy has been trailered all over to experience new places, been in large arenas, on several group trail rides, is traffic safe, been ridden double, ponied other horses, gone over bridges and through water, and been ridden in parades. He has toted around beginners, kids, and elderly. Loud tractors, heavy machinery, 4 wheelers, snowmobiles, etc....nope, also not an issue. Stands still while we climb up loud panels to climb on his back and won't budge while we laugh and clamber up his side while he's out grazing in the pasture.
Located in Boyne City, Michigan and we can help set up transport anywhere in the US.
If he stays around much longer and we start putting more training on him his value will increase.
