Reno was bred by Fred Gist from the famous Wagon Wheel Ranch.
Established in 1872 the Wagon Wheel Ranch is widely regarded for the role the Gist family played, under the guidance of Fred G. Gist, to preserve valuable foundation American Quarter Horse bloodlines such as King P234, Joe Hancock, Blue Valentine, Driftwood, Royal King, and more.
Over the course of three decades, Fred Gist studied, tested, and proved certain breeding principles and refined the process with Dr.... (read more) Ed Heimann’s Genetic Statistics Inheritance System. In doing so, he was able to preserve and increase the percentage of Foundation Blood in our horses, as well as increase homozygosity and hybrid vigor to ultimately create genetic super horses…horses with both above average homozygosity and hybrid vigor. Basically, these super horses are the total package—horses that can consistently reproduce themselves as well as perform.
Reno's registered name is "WILD CREEK HANCOCK"
100% Foundation bred
26% Joe Hancock
Reno is the ultimate super horse. Everyone loves Reno, he has been ridden by 30+ different riders from highly skilled professionals to beginners. He competes at a high level in team roping, runs barrels, ranch rodeos, team sorting, performs ranch work, and is a perfect gentleman out on the trail. He already has a nice collection of buckles and wins in roping.
Reno is also a movie star, he was in the main scene of the movie "Huntsville" that is currently under production. The directors and producers loved him so much they asked if he could be in more movies.
At only 5 years old he is better than most 12 yr old seasoned horses in all aspects from the arena, ranch work, trail riding, and who knows how high his ceiling is.

We are excited about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share his love and wonderful plan of eternal salvation to all that we meet as we ride through the trails of this life.
We train Team Roping, Barrel, and Trail horses. We go to great lengths to train, and build a bond with our horses and will make sure we find the right companion that fits your wants, desires and needs.
We team rope daily and attend 2-3 jackpots a week and several big events each year.... (read more) We barrel race and take lots of trail rides. Our trail horses get hauled to events to make them more confident and desensitized. Our team roping and barrel horses are taken trail riding and perform ranch work to provide a balance and make a great all around horse.
This is not a part time hobby for us, this is what we do fulltime for a living. We love Jesus Christ and love our horses!
