KD Ranch Alberta, Who Are We ?
Located North of Grande Prairie Alberta; Kenneth & Denay Bjornson, along with their two beautiful daughters are bringing their life long passion of ranching to others. They were both raised on a cattle ranch; experiencing the challenges of the life as well as the great joy it can bring & gaining years of valuable experience! Learning how to ride at a young age they both developed an appreciation for a good horse.... (read more) Their passion for taking care of the land, the animals, & helping others has only grown over the years as they continue to grow their holistic approach to ranching.
*Kenny & Denay started building their homestead in 2014, both working full time. They officially started building their equine breeding herd in 2017 to add to their commercial cattle program. They have grown their ranch slowly but steady over the past years both still working to help support their farm’s growth. Adding farm fresh eggs, Purebred Speckled Park Cattle, St. Bernard’s, Poodles, Swine, & offering farm beef and pork. They ask; what do the animals need? What does the land need? And especially what do their customers need?

The Bjornson’s want their customers to end up with a horse that’s not only able to perform, but is trainable, & safe. With a stronger focus on the ranch breeding Denay & Kenny hope to also raise good “all around” horses! Their stallions are enrolled in: CBHI, BERI, ASHA, & ARCHA
*On the cattle side Kenny & Denay raise commercial Speckle Park and Angus, and have found a passion for the Purebred Speckled Park Cattle. They believe cattle should be safe to handle, thrive with low input, have high fertility and longevity.
They are building their program for:
*Calving Ease
*Low cost, easy keeping cattle
*Good temperaments
*Longevity
*Kenny & Denay are very excited to now offer Sides of Grass and Grain Finished Beef. When they saw the shortage happening in meat prices they decided people deserved other options & to know where their food comes from! No hormones are used, animals are finished naturally & ethically.
*Let’s talk about their Canine Breeding Program! There are multiple opinions on breeding or rescuing dogs and Kenny & Denay understand both. They have & always will do their part and take in rescues when their home is the appropriate one. They also have recognized a need & a love of the St. Bernard’s and Poodles. They strive to raise puppies that will be the best family and children dogs, but yet not hesitate to protect their people. Animals are a huge source of healing & joy and they hope that their puppies bring just that to their customers. Everyone will sign a “surrender agreement” before they take their puppy home. This is to state that if for whatever reason they cannot keep the puppy/dog they do not surrender to a shelter, but they bring it back to the ranch & they will give it a home until they find its forever one.
*Denay’s Farm Fresh Eggs business started at a very young age & they are proud to bring the great tasting eggs to their customers today! With no hormones & raised naturally you will eat healthier & enjoy your eggs!
*Swine. They raise weaner piglets for others to finish their own way. And offer farm raised, No Hormone, Naturally and Ethically Finished Sides of Pork on order.
*Among supporting their customers health they enjoy the benefits of Fresh Milk from their Jersey. And sometimes have on offer Milk Cow Prospects.
