Carlyn's experience and background with troubled horses and riders has allowed her the insights into developing confident, effective riders and safe, reliable horses. Her techniques are based on natural horsemanship, dressage, hunter/jumper and equitation. Carlyn's specialty has always been hunter/jumper and equitation, however, with her training in both natural horsemanship and dressage. She has been able to adapt her techniques to suit most disciplines. Her current clientele consist of not only hunter/jumper, but also western, recreational, dressage, and 3-day event riders. With a strong background in a wider variety of disciplines, she has been able to incorporate the techniques from dressage, hunter/jumper and natural horsemanship into the development of well rounded horses and riders for show or leisure in a wide variety of disciplines. Whether your problem is ground manners or lead changes, her knowledge can help to achieve each riders goals and improve the way of going of each horse. Her background has involved dealing with many distressed, problem and difficult horses. Her experience with them has given her the skills and the techniques to assist rider overcome their fear and regain position relationships with their horses, while also correcting the problems that exist.
She is a lead change specialist as well.

Carlyn has been operating her mobile lesson program throughout Central and Southern Alberta since 2003 (Red Deer, Ponoka, Heisler, Rimbey, Lacombe, Blackfalds, Rumsey, Calgary, Strathmore, Bragg Creek, Okotoks, Millarville, Dewinton, Blackie, Brooks, Bassano, Cochrane, Crossfield, to name but a few....).Carlyn specializes in the hunter/jumper/equitation discipline, but has clientele from many other disciplines, including dressage, western, trail and 3-day event. Lessons are available in the comfort of your own property, or on location at Caprice Equestrian (Chestermere), haul-ins are also welcome.
Carlyn has been teaching privately for individuals as well as organizations such as Alberta Pony Club (also is an examiner for Pony Club), Adult Riding Cooperative, Alberta 4-H. She also judges for organizations such as Alberta 4-H, Pony Cub, Local Hunter/Jumper shows, and the Welsh Pony & Cob Society.
