Appalachian State University Equestrian Team

The Appalachian State University Equestrian Club welcomes horseback riders of all skill levels, from just starting out to the seasoned veteran. You can take lessons, show, or just come to our meetings and social events! You don't even have to ride! The only requirement is a love of horses and all things equestrian!

We currently have a Huntseat Team and a Dressage Team. We also offer a Western Team for those interested! If you would like to show with us, you will take lessons at our practice facility with our coaches, Sarah Klassett (Huntseat) or Dana Dewy (Dressage & Western).... (read more) You are not required to show if you are taking lessons, but you must take lessons if you are wanting to show. We ride at the wonderful Foothills Equestrian Center (www.foothillsweb.com) in Taylorsville, NC.

The ASU Equestrian Team is a member of the Club Sports Program at the university. The Club Sports Program is designed to meet the competitive athletic desires of students, faculty and staff of Appalachian State University. Many student athletes choose Club Sports because their sport is not offered through the varsity or intramural sports programs, or they do not wish to make the time commitment necessary for a varsity sport.
