About Eventing Horses
Eventing horses compete in three different disciplines. The first of the three events is dressage, where horses perform a set of movements in an arena. The horse needs to show that it can respond to the riders cues effortlessly and with precision. The second event is cross country where horses have to compete over a course that’s up to 4 miles long over a series of obstacles and jumps. The final event is show jumping where the horse needs to jump over a series of fences in an arena. To perform well in all three disciplines, an eventing horse needs to be extremely fit.
