About Miniature Donkeys
Miniature donkeys originally come from the Mediterranean and Sicily and they can be trained to pull carts or ridden by small children. Like miniature horses, miniature donkeys need to be less than 36" (or 9 hands) and average between 32 and 34", you’ll find many smaller than that listed as well. They come in a variety of colors, but the most common color is dun and white. While the donkey used to split into many different breeds, today most donkey breeds have been interbred and are categorized solely by their size and height. In addition to miniature donkeys, there are also standard donkeys and mammoth donkeys.
